Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The indubitable event! 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent; 6 which He willed against them for seven nights and eight days without cease, so that in the end thou couldst see those people laid low [in death,] as though they were so many [uprooted] trunks of hollow palm trees: 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 In high empyrean 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. 25 and knew nothing of my reckoning. 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 My wealth has not availed me, 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37
