Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
