Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 In a lofty Paradise, 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 and neither known this my account! 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
