Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Now dost thou see any remnant of them? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 In a Garden on high, 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 And not known my account! 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 Gone from me is my authority." 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 Nor any food save filthy corruption. 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37
