Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The true event! 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 In a Garden on high, 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 And not known my account! 26 "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 and the only food he has is filth 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
