Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The sure calamity! 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 and dost thou now see any remnant of them? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 In high empyrean 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 And not known my account! 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 Nor any food except refuse, 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
