Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, 14 On that day, the inevitable event will take place 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure – the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 Nor known whatever was my reckoning! 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37
