Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, 6 which God let loose against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you could have seen its people lying prostrate as though they were the hollow trunks of palm-trees which had fallen down. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 His shall be a pleasing life 21 In a lofty Garden – 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 My wealth has not availed me, 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 Nor any food save filth 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37
