Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The true event! 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 in a lofty Garden 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 'Eat and drink with wholesome appetite for that you did long ago, in the days gone by.' 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 O would that it had made an end (of me): 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 so today he has no friend here, 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
