Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Calamity! 1 How tremendous is the true event! 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 and dost thou now see any remnant of them? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 His shall be a pleasing life 21 In a high garden 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 nor any food save the filth 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37
