Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 In a high garden 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 and no food except pus 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
