Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, 6 Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 In a lofty Paradise, 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 Would it had been the end! 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 And then expose him to hell-fire 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 and no food except pus 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37
