Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Indubitable! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 in a high Garden, 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 O would that it had made an end (of me): 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 so today he has no friend here, 35 and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37
