Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 and the sky will be rent asunder - for, frail will it have become on that Day; 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 In a lofty Paradise, 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 "Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!" 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
