Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 in a lofty Garden, 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 [And all who are thus blest will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer in return for all [the good deeds] that you have sent ahead in days gone by!" 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 and neither known this my account! 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37
