Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship 11 That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 His shall be a pleasing life 21 In a Garden on high, 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 nor any food save the filth 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37
