Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The sure calamity! 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 In high empyrean 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37
