Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 What is the Inevitable Calamity? 2 And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: 4 So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 which continued to strike them for seven nights and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 In high empyrean 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
