Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 How tremendous is the true event! 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 and the sky will be rent asunder - for, frail will it have become on that Day; 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 In high empyrean 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 "My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!" 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 Behold, he never believed in God the All-mighty, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37
