Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The true event! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 In a lofty garden, 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 [Thereupon the command will go forth:] "Lay hold of him, and shackle him, 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
