Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The true event! 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day. 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent; 6 Which He sent to assail them for seven nights and eight days running. You should have seen the people prostrate like the decayed trunks of date-palm trees. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 With fruits hanging low within reach, 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
