Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Calamity! 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Do you see any remnants of them? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 So he shall be in a life of pleasure, 21 in a lofty paradise, 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 And not known my account! 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 My wealth has not availed me, 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
