Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 in a lofty Garden 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 Behold, he never believed in God the All-mighty, 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 nor any food save the filth 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
