Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 How tremendous is the true event! 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 in a lofty Garden 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 and then let him enter hell, 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37
