Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Calamity! 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 On that day, the inevitable event will take place 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' 20 So he shall be in a life of pleasure, 21 In a lofty Paradise, 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 On this day, they will have no friends 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
