Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)

۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 The Ads were destroyed by a swift, destructive gale 6 which continued to strike them for seven nights and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast, 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 In a high garden 22 With fruits hanging low within reach, 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 Nor any food save filth 36 Which none but the hellish eat." 37
