Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 How tremendous is the true event! 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 The Ads were destroyed by a swift, destructive gale 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 In an elevated garden, 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. 32 Behold, he never believed in God the All-mighty, 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37
