Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Calamity! 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 Pharoah and those before him and the inhabitants of the overthrown cities persistently committed grave sins. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 in a lofty Garden 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 and no food except pus 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37
