Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 In a high garden 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 "Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!" 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 and no food except pus 36 Which none but the hellish eat." 37
