Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 in an exalted garden 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 Would it had been the end! 27 Of no use was even my wealth. 28 I am bereft of power." 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
