Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 which continued to strike them for seven nights and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing. 10 We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 I am bereft of power." 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 Today he shall have no loyal friend here, 35 and the only food he has is filth 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
