Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 What is the Reality? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 and dost thou now see any remnant of them? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 He who is given his ledger in his right hand, will say: "Here, read my ledger. 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In a high garden 22 its fruits are near. 23 'Eat and drink with wholesome appetite for that you did long ago, in the days gone by.' 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 and knew nothing of my reckoning. 26 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! 27 My wealth has not availed me, 28 I am bereft of power." 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 and no food except pus 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37
