Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The true event! 1 What is the Inevitable Calamity? 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 In a high garden 22 With fruits hanging low within reach, 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
