Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? 3 The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Now dost thou see any remnant of them? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing. 10 Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 On that day, the inevitable event will take place 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 So he shall be in a life of pleasure, 21 In a Garden on high, 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 and had not known my account. 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 and then let him enter hell, 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
