Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The sure calamity! 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 in a lofty Garden, 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 I am bereft of power." 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 nor any food save the filth 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37
