Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 in a high Garden, 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 Behold, he never believed in God the All-mighty, 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
