But nay! I swear by all that ye see 38 And all that ye see not 39 Most surely, it is the Word brought by an honored Apostle, 40 And not the word of a poet. How little is it that you believe! 41 Nor is it the word of a soothsayer (or a foreteller), little is that you remember! 42 A sending down from the Lord of all Being. 43 And if the messenger were to invent any sayings in Our name, 44 We would indeed have seized him by his right hand, 45 then We would surely have cut his life-vein 46 not one of you could have prevented it from him. 47 And lo! it is a warrant unto those who ward off (evil). 48 We know very well that there are some among you who reject Our signs -- 49 Indeed, it is a sorrow to the unbelievers 50 But verily it is Truth of assured certainty. 51 Exalt the Name of your Lord, the Great. 52
