But nay! I swear by that which you see, 38 And that which you do not see. 39 that this is the speech of a noble Messenger. 40 it is not the word of a poet -- how little you believe! -- 41 Nor is it the word of a soothsayer -- how little you reflect! 42 A sending down from the Lord of all Being. 43 And if he [i.e., the Prophets] had forged this Discourse and thereafter ascribed it to Us, 44 We would certainly have seized him by the right hand, 45 and then severed his life vein; 46 And not one of you would have been able to stop (Us). 47 And indeed this Qur’an is an advice for the pious. 48 We certainly know that some of you have rejected it 49 It is surely the nemesis of unbelievers. 50 yet indeed it is the truth of certainty. 51 Wherefore hallow thou the name of thy Lord, the Mighty. 52
