Al-Haaqqah 2 of 2
But nay, I swear by all that you can see 38 and all that you do not see, 39 Behold, this [Qur'an] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 40 And not the word of a poet. How little is it that you believe! 41 Nor is it the speech of a soothsayer; how little do you ponder! 42 It is a revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. 43 Now if he [whom We have entrusted with it] had dared to attribute some [of his own] sayings unto Us, 44 We would have seized him by his right hand, 45 and cut-off his main artery. 46 and not one of you would have been able to withhold Us from doing so. 47 And lo! it is a warrant unto those who ward off (evil). 48 And most surely We know that some of you are rejecters. 49 and (on the Day of Judgment) this will be a great source of regret for the unbelievers. 50 yet it is a certain truth. 51 Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), proclaim the purity of your Lord, the Greatest. 52

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
