WHAT, THEN, is amiss with such as are bent on denying the truth, that they run about confusedly to and fro before thee, 36 towards thee on the right hand and on the left hand in knots? 37 Does every man of them hope to enter the Paradise of delight? 38 Never so. We have created them from what they know. 39 So I swear by the Lord of every East and every West, that We are indeed Able. 40 To bring better people than they in their place; and they will not be able to thwart Us. 41 Hence, leave them to indulge in idle talk and play [with words] until they face that [Judgment] Day of theirs which they have been promised 42 the day they shall come forth from the tombs hastily, as if they were hurrying unto a waymark, 43 with downcast eyes, with ignominy overwhelming them: that Day which they were promised again and again 44
