WHAT, THEN, is amiss with such as are bent on denying the truth, that they run about confusedly to and fro before thee, 36 From the right and from the left, in crowds? 37 Does every man of them long to enter the Garden of Bliss? 38 Certainly not! They know quite well out of what We created them. 39 So I swear by the Lord of the Easts and the Wests that We are certainly able 40 to replace them by others who would be better than they; and We shall certainly not be overpowered. 41 Therefore leave them alone to go on with the false discourses and to sport until they come face to face with that day of theirs with which they are threatened; 42 the Day when they shall come forth in haste from their graves, as if racing towards a goal-post, 43 Their eyes lowered in dejection, ignominy covering them (all over)! such is the Day the which they are promised! 44
