Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
WE SENT NOAH to his people to warn them before the painful punishment came upon them. 1 [Noah] said, "My people! I am but a plain warner to you, 2 "That you should worship Allah (Alone), be dutiful to Him, and obey me, 3 “He will forgive you some of your sins, and give you respite up to an appointed term; indeed the promise of Allah cannot be averted when it arrives; if only you knew.” 4 'My Lord' said he, 'night and day I have called my nation, 5 But my invitation increased them not except in flight. 6 And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance. 7 Then I summoned them openly, 8 Then I announced to them and [also] confided to them secretly 9 Then I said, "Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Surely He is the most forgiving. 10 He will send you abundant rain from the sky, 11 "'Give you increase in wealth and sons; and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers (of flowing water). 12 What is the matter with you, [that you fear not Allah (His punishment), and] you hope not for reward (from Allah or you believe not in His Oneness). 13 seeing He created you by stages? 14 "Have you not seen that God has created the seven heavens one above the other 15 And made the moon therein a [reflected] light and made the sun a burning lamp? 16 God made you grow from the earth. 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 And Allah has made for you the earth wide spread (an expanse). 19 so that you walk in its spacious paths.' 20
