Noah (Nooh)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement. 1 He said: "O my People! I am to you a Warner, clear and open: 2 [Saying], 'Worship Allah, fear Him and obey me. 3 "So He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a stated Term: for when the Term given by Allah is accomplished, it cannot be put forward: if ye only knew." 4 He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day 5 And my calling hath only increased them in fleeing. 6 And verily so oft as I call them, that Thou mayest forgive them, they place their fingers into their ears, and wrap themselves with their garments, and persist, and are stiff-necked. 7 "I preached to them aloud, in public. 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 And I told them: 'Ask your Lord to forgive you. He is verily forgiving. 10 He will send the heaven upon you copiously; 11 and will provide you with wealth and children, and will bestow upon you gardens and rivers. 12 What is amiss with you that you do not look forward to the majesty of Allah 13 While He has created you in (different) stages [i.e. first Nutfah, then 'Alaqah and then Mudghah, see (VV. 23:13, 14) the Quran]. 14 Have you not regarded how God created seven heavens one upon another, 15 And made the moon therein a [reflected] light and made the sun a burning lamp? 16 And Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth so wondrously, 17 Afterwards He will return you into it (the earth), and bring you forth (again on the Day of Resurrection)? 18 Allah has made the earth spread out for you 19 so that you might walk thereon on spacious paths.'" 20
