Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
We sent Noah to his people, saying, 'Warn thy people, ere there come on them a painful chastisement.' 1 [Noah] said, "My people! I am but a plain warner to you, 2 That you should serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him and obey me: 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 'My Lord' said he, 'night and day I have called my nation, 5 “So for them, my calling them increased their fleeing away.” 6 "And verily! Every time I called unto them that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, and persisted (in their refusal), and magnified themselves in pride. 7 "I preached to them aloud, in public. 8 Then surely I spoke to them in public and I spoke to them in secret: 9 and I said, "Ask you forgiveness of your Lord; surely He is ever All-forgiving, 10 ‘He will send down abundant rain for you from the sky.’ 11 "'Give you increase in wealth and sons; and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers (of flowing water). 12 What has come upon you that you do not fear the majesty of God, 13 When He created you by (divers) stages? 14 Behold ye not in what wise Allah hath created seven heavens in storeys. 15 And hath placed the moon therein for a light, and hath made the sun a lamp? 16 And Allah hath caused you to grow from the earth as a growth. 17 how He will then return you to it and bring you forth again, 18 Allah has made the earth spread out for you 19 That you may go about therein in broad roads. 20
