Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment." 1 He said: "O my People! I am to you a Warner, clear and open: 2 "That you should worship Allah (Alone), be dutiful to Him, and obey me, 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 He said: "O Lord, I called my people night and day, 5 but my calling has only increased them in flight. 6 "And verily! Every time I called unto them that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, and persisted (in their refusal), and magnified themselves in pride. 7 "I preached to them aloud, in public. 8 Then surely I spoke to them in public and I spoke to them in secret: 9 Then I said, "Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Surely He is the most forgiving. 10 and He will loose heaven upon you in torrents 11 and will aid you with worldly goods and children, and will bestow upon you gardens, and bestow upon you running waters. 12 ‘What is the matter with you, that you do not desire honour from Allah?’ 13 "'Seeing that it is He that has created you in diverse stages? 14 See ye not how Allah hath created seven heavens in harmony, 15 And made the moon therein a [reflected] light and made the sun a burning lamp? 16 And Allah hath caused you to grow as a growth from the earth, 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 how God has spread the earth out for you 19 "'That ye may go about therein, in spacious roads.'" 20
