Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Verily, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people (Saying): "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful torment." 1 He said: O my people! Lo! I am a plain warner unto you 2 that you should worship God [alone] and be conscious of Him. Pay heed to me. 3 so that He may forgive you some of your sins, and grant you respite until a term known [to Him alone]: but, behold, when the term appointed by God does come, it can never be put back - if you but knew it!" 4 He said: O my Lord! surely I have called my people by night and by day! 5 "But my call only increases (their) flight (from the Right). 6 “And whenever I called them, so that You may forgive them, they always thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their clothes, and remained stubborn and were extremely haughty.” 7 "And behold I called unto them openly; 8 Then I conveyed the message to them, again, both in public and in private, 9 And I have said: Seek pardon of your Lord. Lo! He was ever Forgiving. 10 He will send you abundant rain from the sky, 11 ‘And will aid you with wealth and sons, and will create gardens for you and cause rivers to flow for you.’ 12 What is amiss with you that you do not look forward to the majesty of Allah 13 when He has created you in stages? 14 Do you not see how Allah has created seven heavens, one upon the other, 15 and has placed the moon in them as a light, and the sun as a radiant lamp? 16 "'And Allah has produced you from the earth growing (gradually), 17 ‘And He will then take you back to it, and again remove you from it.” 18 Allah has made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 that thereof you may thread ways, ravines." 20
