Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Verily, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people (Saying): "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful torment." 1 He said: "O my people! Verily, I am a plain warner to you, 2 Worship Allah, fear Him, and obey me. 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 Noah said, "My Lord, I have been preaching to my people, night and day, 5 but my calling has only increased them in flight. 6 And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance. 7 I called to them clearly, 8 Then surely I spoke to them in public and I spoke to them in secret: 9 and I said: "'Ask your Sustainer to forgive you your sins - for, verily, He is all-forgiving! 10 He will send down upon you the cloud, pouring down abundance of rain: 11 rain from the sky, 12 What is the matter with you that you do not want the Greatness of Allah, 13 seeing He created you by stages? 14 Behold ye not in what wise Allah hath created seven heavens in storeys. 15 and placed therein the moon as a light and the sun as a torch. 16 how God has produced you from the earth and caused you to grow, 17 ‘And He will then take you back to it, and again remove you from it.” 18 And Allah hath made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 That you may follow therein roads of passage.'
