Noah (Nooh)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement. 1 Noah said, "My people, I am warning you plainly. 2 Worship Allah, and fear Him, and obey me. 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 Noah said, "My Lord, I have been preaching to my people, night and day, 5 "But my call only increases (their) flight (from the Right). 6 And whenever I have called them that Thou mayest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, cover themselves with their garments, and persist and are puffed up with pride: 7 “I then called them openly.” 8 and preached to them in public, and also addressed them in secret. 9 and I said: "'Ask your Sustainer to forgive you your sins - for, verily, He is all-forgiving! 10 and He will loose heaven upon you in torrents 11 rain from the sky, 12 What aileth you that ye hope not toward Allah for dignity 13 when He has created you in stages? 14 Have you not regarded how God created seven heavens one upon another, 15 And has placed the moon therein, an illumination, and has placed the sun, a lighted lamp? 16 "'And Allah has produced you from the earth growing (gradually), 17 He will then return you back to it, and bring you out again. 18 "'And God has made the earth a wide expanse for you, 19 so that you may walk along its spacious paths?" 20
