Noah (Nooh)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Bee (Al-nahl) before Abraham (Ibrahim)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Indeed We sent Nooh towards his people saying that, “Warn your people before the painful punishment comes upon them.” 1 He said, “O my people! I am indeed a Herald of clear warnings to you.” 2 That you should serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him and obey me: 3 "He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew." 4 He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day: 5 "But all my calling added nothing but to (their) flight (from the truth). 6 Every time I have called to them, so that You might forgive them, they have only thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, grown obstinate, and given themselves up to arrogance. 7 Then I called them loudly and more openly, 8 then indeed I spoke publicly unto them, and I spoke unto them secretly, 9 "Saying, 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving; 10 ‘He will send down abundant rain for you from the sky.’ 11 "'Give you increase in wealth and sons; and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers (of flowing water). 12 What aileth you that ye hope not toward Allah for dignity 13 And indeed He has created you through various grades: 14 Do you not consider how Allah has created seven heavens in layers 15 And hath made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 God produced you from the earth like a vegetable growth; 17 Afterwards He will return you into it (the earth), and bring you forth (again on the Day of Resurrection)? 18 And Allah has made for you the earth wide spread (an expanse). 19 so that you may tread its spacious paths.” 20

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
