Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement. 1 He said: O my people! Surely I am a plain warner to you: 2 “That you must worship Allah and fear Him, and obey me.” 3 "He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew." 4 He said; 'My Lord, I have called my people by night and by day, 5 but my call has only increased them in running away. 6 And every time I called them that You may forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their garments, and became wayward, and behaved with downright insolence. 7 Then surely I called to them aloud: 8 "Further I have spoken to them in public and secretly in private, 9 and I said: "'Ask your Sustainer to forgive you your sins - for, verily, He is all-forgiving! 10 He will send down upon you the cloud, pouring down abundance of rain: 11 "'Give you increase in wealth and sons; and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers (of flowing water). 12 What has come upon you that you do not fear the majesty of God, 13 While He has created you in (different) stages [i.e. first Nutfah, then 'Alaqah and then Mudghah, see (VV. 23:13, 14) the Quran]. 14 Behold ye not in what wise Allah hath created seven heavens in storeys. 15 and set the moon therein for a light and the sun for a lamp? 16 how God has produced you from the earth and caused you to grow, 17 then He shall return you into it, and bring you forth. 18 Allah has made the earth spread out for you 19 That of it ye may traverse the ways open. 20
